TERM 3 – MID SEMESTER REPORTS
Mid Semester 2 reports will be distributed on the last day of term 3 – Friday 18th September.
These reports will focus on work habits, displaying school values and a general teacher comment in remote and flexible learning.
More details about the reports, including how to access will be sent via Compass a few days prior to publishing them.
STUDENT LEAD CONFERENCES (SLC)
We have made the decision to cancel SLC’s, originally scheduled late this term.
Teachers, in consultation with the leadership team and school council president, put much thought into it and arrived at this decision for the following reasons:
SWIMMING
TERM 4– PREP to YEAR 2 – CANCELLED
We have made the sensible decision to cancel Prep to Year 2 Swimming that was scheduled for term 4 2020.
2021 SWIMMING
We have made a booking for all (P-6) Swimming classes to happen during the second half of the 2021 school year. We will continue to monitor the health and safety requirements that will ultimately decide what happens with our swimming program next year.

STUDENT LEAD CONFERENCES (SLC)
We have made the decision to cancel SLC’s, originally scheduled late this term.
Teachers, in consultation with the leadership team and school council president, put much thought into it and arrived at this decision for the following reasons:
- The purpose of SLC's is to give parents/caregivers access and insights into their child/children's learning and to forge partnerships or connections with teachers.
- 2020 has been like no other school year in living memory.
- Remote & Flexible learning at home in terms 2 & 3 has resulted in parents having more access than ever to their child's learning. In the words of our AVPS School Council President:"2020 has been one continuous SLC at home!!"
- Parents/caregivers's opportunities for connections with AVPS staff have been heightened in 2020. We encourage parents/carers, as always, to remain connected with teachers using the usual methods e.g., Class Dojo, particularly if there are queries to address.
- Student portfolios have not been a focus this term, as they would have been had COVID-19 not interrupted our plans.
- Our preference is to avoid another Pupil Free day.

TAKE GOOD CARE
RUOK? DAY
R U OK? Day is Thursday 10 September 2020. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs.
Teachers and students will be focusing on what to say when someone says they’re not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could help someone else.
We are encouraging all students and staff to wear something YELLOW on this day.
