Enrolment criteria
We are able to accept all student enrolments if Ascot Vale PS is your closest Victorian Government Primary School.
If AVPS is not your closest Government school, check the table below under 'availability and waiting list' to determine if AVPS currently has space in a particular year level.
Please contact the school (9370 6507) if you are unsure or have queries about our enrolment restrictions.
The Regional Area Director of South Western Department of Education and Training (DET) Victoria, John Dainutus, communicated to our school in 2018 that AVPS should now limit the number of students enrolling from outside the designated neighbourhood area so that capacity is not exceeded.
We are therefore obliged by the Department of Education and Training (DET) to accept all students for whom Ascot Vale PS is the closest Government school to their permanent residence (residential address, not a business address).
Please visit the Find My School website to identify your closest Government school.
The school requires proof of current residence - either a current local council rates notice or rental agreement and a current utility bill (gas, water or electricity).
If you meet the above mentioned criteria, we will:
Once all documents and information have been collected we will confirm your child’s enrolment at Ascot Vale Primary School, as soon as possible. This may take up to a week in peak times.
Please visit our Year Prep/ Foundation Transition page for more specific information about transitioning your child from Pre-School to Primary School .
