REMOTE LEARNING SLIDESHOW
We hope you enjoy viewing our remote learning slideshow above. These (fantastic) pictures certainly tell the story of AVPS's 'Flexible and Remote' learning program; some are similar - some very different. The emphasis definitely being on 'flexible'- to suit family circumstances.

Thank you to those families who have shared photos. This slideshow will remain a feature of our fortnightly newsletter. So, if you would like to contribute to this and give permission for shared images to be published in our newsletter (on our website) please forward your favourite learning at home pics to
Sue's email address (found on the compass alert).
MESSAGES FROM AVPS STAFF
Here are some top tips from our AVPS staff to assist as we continue our remote learning adventure together (but apart).
  • Do what works for you
  • Enjoy the time with your kids
  • Take advantage of different types and ways to learn......it doesn't always have to be "school work".   I've seen chickens hatching, reading on Skype, sewing, hopscotch counting, maths with autumn leaves, handmade paper viking costumes.......  there's learning all around you - don't worry.
  • Please don't stress about school work. Do what you can. Do what suits you and your family. Do it when it works best for you. Be flexible. Everyday is different. Take it day by day.
  • Great art takes time. Don't rush. It may take an hour, it may take 3. That's ok! There is no deadline. Work at your own pace. Make it a time to relax, be calm, be mindful and create. Most of all, make it a time for you to have fun and let your imagination wander.
  • ABC3 is Awesome!
  • Be Patient
  • Be Safe
  • Be Kind
  • I am missing learning with you all but at the same time I can see that you are enjoying learning with your family.
  • I am very proud of the way you all have shown resilience to adapt to these extreme circumstances.
  • Stay positive and keep in contact with your friends and family. This time will pass and we hope to be back soon!!!!
  • Don't forget WHY we are all learning remotely and be proud of the effort YOU are making to help keep our community safe and healthy.  Well done; it is making a big difference.
  • Cherish your family members.
  • Be patient; this shall pass but it may be a long time before we are back to 'normal'. Patience is key.
  • Try your best
  • Don’t be scared to ask questions if you’re unsure of something
  • Take your breaks
  • Do what you can when you can in your own time schedule.
  • If tech fails, don't stress we are all learning.
  • Be kind, we are all doing our best.
  • Do the best you can and look after each other at home, join the video catch ups with your class to stay connected
  • Try to post some work to your teacher on a daily basis to keep up your fantastic learning and get some well deserved feedback.
  • Don't forget to have a break, get some exercise and laugh!
  • Use your schedule to stay on track and to know when lessons/Google Meets are happening.
  • The lessons we are providing are very similar to what we would give in class and should take the same amount if time to complete - if you are struggling to get through, don't stress, just stay in touch/communicate with your teacher - we have built in time for finishing things off
  • If you have a go at most things, submit work as much as possible for feedback, participate in Google Meets and ask questions, your teacher will be thrilled!  If you don't complete everything, it is ok.  We are looking for how well everyone is trying to engage and participate in their learning from home.
  • Stay calm.
  • Take your time with your remote learning.
  • This soon shall pass.
  • Stay active, even going for a 30 minute walk does amazing things for our mental health. Endorphins are the key!
  • Turn the devices off. Set a time in the afternoon when all devices get turned off
  • Be patient. Be patient with each other. Be patient with yourself. No real harm comes from being patient. But rushing forward for the sake of getting there first can cause great harm. Be patient.
  • Patience and be flexible
  • Find what works for you
  • Try your best
